McDonell Thoroughbreds

The McDonell farm was built in 1999 by Patrick and Janet McDonell. It is a small facility to care for all aspects of the thoroughbred horse.

Birth place of "THE STRAW MAN", Nebraska Three Year-Old Colt of the Year, winner of the Fonner Breeders Special, the Nebraska Derby, State Fair Breeders Special, State Fair Derby and four other races to date.

The farm consists of: turn-out paddocks, stalls, large stalls for foaling mares, exerciser, training track and rebahilitation care.

We welcome inquiries regarding the rehabilitation of your injured horse for bows, shin bucks, hair line fractures, suspensories  etc., or just a lay up for rest. We will consider the purchase of any well-bred horse that requires rehabilitation from injury.
